Without the proper guidance, navigating the U.S. immigration laws can be a very frustrating experience. The decision for selecting a legal professional service must, therefore, be exercised with the utmost care. There must be no question as to their integrity and professionalism, in addition to their experience and knowledge in handling the type of cases involved so as to ensure the greatest chance of success. Ms. Hai is no stranger to the immigration process. Having been through the immigration process herself and with over seven years of professional experience, she is sympathetic to and understands the concerns and anxiety involved.
Ms. Hai came to the United States from Beijing, China, in 1996 to pursue her graduate studies in the University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA). After obtaining her Master’s degree from UCLA, and as part of her doctoral research, Ms. Hai studied the Chinese immigrant community in California, focusing on the ramifications and effects of current U.S. immigration laws on Chinese immigrants. To this end, Ms. Hai joined a Los Angeles immigration law office, which specializes in employment-based immigration cases.
Ms. Hai has since accumulated over seven years of professional experience exclusively in employment-based immigration matters. Her specialty lies in immigrant visas for aliens of Extraordinary Ability (EB-1-1), aliens who are Outstanding Researchers/Professors (EB-1-2), and aliens of Exceptional Ability (EB-2) who qualified for National Interest Waivers (NIW) of a job offer, and hence, labor certification. She works step by step with clients of the law office throughout the entire process by doing a thorough analysis of the applicant’s background and research experience, discovering their achievements and abilities, exploring all possibilities and establishing the most appropriate strategy to emphasize their advantages and strong points in order to present each of the clients in the best light, carefully reviewing all documents and letters and providing specific suggestions as to what should be addressed in the recommendation letters, which are critical to the success of the application. In this regard, Ms. Hai has successfully assisted helping numerous Chinese graduate students and postdoctoral researchers in myriad scientific endeavors from various universities and research institutions throughout the United States. For one example, she assisted helping an applicant, with five peer-reviewed papers, obtain his U.S. permanent residency through EB11 (alien of extraordinary ability) from the Nebraska Service Center. She also assisted helping an engineer at a small-sized biomedical company obtain NIW approval from Vermont Service Center. In addition, she also successfully assisted helping foreign nationals from other countries in their applications for permanent residency in the United States, including India, Russia, France, Australia, and Korea. Ms. Hai's experience has also assisted leading to the successful attainment of Labor Certification through Special Handling for College Teachers/Professors for numerous Chinese scholars, including two assistant professors from New York University.
Ms. Hai has also garnered an impressive record of successes in various nonimmigrant visa applications, including H-1B visas for aliens in accounting, electrical engineering, architecture, business management, computer science, medicine, etc. Moreover, she has attained an equally stellar record in helping O-1 non-immigrant visas for aliens of Extraordinary Ability. To illustrate, she assisted helping a postdoctoral researcher in Connecticut whose J-1 status was about to expire in about a month. With premium processing, the O-1 petition was approved in a mere thirteen days!
More importantly, Ms. Hai has earned the trust of countless clients of the office through her diligence and meticulous attention to detail, which is crucial to any successful application or petition. This trust is evident from the numerous referrals the office has received from satisfied and appreciative clients all over the United States. She has asisted helping clients from University of Massachusetts, Harvard University, University of Delaware, University of Rhode Island, Case Western Reserve University, University of Alabama, Oklahoma State University, Iowa State University, University of North Carolina, University of Texas, University of New Mexico, University of Missouri, UIUC, University of Virginia, University of California, and USC, to name a few. Ms. Hai's experience and knowledge helped enormously that the office does not mislead clients, nor does the office make false promises. This assures that the office takes only cases that have a high chance of being approved. To date the approval rate for EB11/NIW cases has been 85%.
In August 2005, Ms. Hai decided to join and head the immigration department at the Law Offices of Michael Brooks & Associates, a law firm that has served the immigrant community in California and throughout the country for two decades. Prior to that, she worked at the Law Offices of Steve Qi & Associates and the Law Offices of Scott Warmuth, respectively.
With a firm belief that everyone should be afforded an equal opportunity to realize their American Dream, Ms. Hai will continue to contribute her knowledge, expertise, and experience in immigration law to help those who have placed their trust in her.
